  • How We Clean Amethyst

Information:

Hours & Season:

Our season is June 1st to September 30th.

We're open 9am to 5pm daily!

Seven days a week, rain or shine, including holidays.

How to find us:

We're located at 119 Road 5 north, Shuniah Ontario Canada, in the Thunder Bay district.

You can find us on google maps under: "Blue Point Amethyst Mine"

The highway has moved and now bypasses Pearl, so here's how to find us:

  • Turn north onto "Road 5 South"
  • Turn right onto old 11/17
  • Turn left onto "Road 5 North"
  • Turn Left onto the mine road
  • Keep straight 3 kilometers / 2 miles to the Blue Point Amethyst Mine

Cost and Fees:

We have free Admission, so there's no cost to enter.

We only charge for what you decide to take home!

We provide 2 gallon buckets for digging, and only charge $40 per bucket.

Payment:

Unfortunately, this far in the bush between the hills and forest there is no phone service, data, or internet.

As a result we're cash only, but we accept both Canadian and American currency to try and accommodate as many people as possible.

What you should bring:

One of the questions we get the most is: "What should I bring to the mine?" So here's our recommendations

  • Closed to shoes (the only requirement to enter)
  • A rock hammer or one handed sledge
  • A sturdy chisel with a handguard
  • Safety glasses to protect your eyes
  • A container to bring your treasures home in
  • A hat for sunny days
  • Lots of water
  • Bug spray and/or a bug net
  • A smile and a love of rocks

RV & Trailer Friendly:

We have a large parking lot with designated RV/Trailer parking, and a trailer turn around loop for your convenience.

Pet Friendly!

Here at the blue points were animals lovers.

Dogs, cats, and all other pets are welcome!

All we ask is your furry friends are kept on a leash out of respect to other visitors, and to protect our chipmunk friends that come every day 🐿️
